What is that?

I loved making beautiful things from unusual sources. Sometimes I use standard beads and metals but lately I’ve been looking at things and saying what if to myself.

What if….I took a damaged fender that shines so prettily – think Dorothy’s ruby red slippers but in blue – cut it up and watched it come to life.

I make only one or two pairs of earrings from most of the materials I use – especially ones that require a saw and a lot of work!

What other strange things have I used, you ask? Bugs. Yes, really.

cicada wings in a round glass bead with a metal bale
Cicada wings in a flat back glass bead with silvertone, black or goldtone metal bales. $10 each with a cord.
cicada wings in glass beads with necklace chains
Cicada wings in blue glass beads with chains $16 each with a goldtone or silvertone gold chain.

I use the standard stuff to make jewelry, too. But I like making things that aren’t on everyone – and make people say What is that?
